Link 222 wants to know how the tax filing process went for folks out there. Did everyone do his own or get an accountant to help? Did you e-file?
And are your state returns finished along with federal? Did anyone actually file taxes early?
Since it's the day after April 15, did anyone celebrate? Or at least relax a little?
Let us know what's on your mind!

I filed mine at the base tax office and sent them electronically. For the first time in quite awhile, I had to pay out. The man said it's because I was filing married filing separately. (I've been divorced since I filed.) So I didn't really celebrate. I made sure to get my checks in the mail so they're out of my hands. One has already been cashed.
Oh, and that reminds me that I need to go change my tax filing status at HR back to "single." *Note to self.*
10:45 p.m.
That's what time I filed mine using an online filing company. I even had to push the "file now" button a few times because I kept getting a message that the system was backed up. So I guess I wasn't the only procrastinator.
So sad.
I do feel relieved though.
Stephaine, I had to pay too. My first time ever. A lot of other folks I know had to pay for the first time too. I remember the days when I filed as a dependent and got all of my taxes back.
Those were the days...
Wow, well thank God I didn't have to pay (though I wonder should I have just put that out there in cyberspace? The IRS terrifies me!)
I gave the federal government an interest-free loan. So they're giving it back. I'm ready to get that check!
Wow, Donecia, yeah, um, I don't think you should have admitted that. Now Uncle Sam is going to hit you harder next year. He's thinking: "Look out for that Donecia lady ... she TOOK our money last year."
And, Adam, it's so true that you give them an INTEREST-FREE loan. I made my payment in one check, but the tax guy said if I didn't pay it ALL up front, then a) they would charge me $50 to send me paperwork for a payment plan and b) they would charge me interest. Uncle Sam definitely doesn't play fair!
(Ooops ... did I say that out loud? I mean I LOVE you, Uncle Sam!)
