An editor, who knows how much I love to gab about celebrities, sent me this from a newswire:
"Beyonce and Jay-Z take out marriage license in Scarsdale GNS Entertainment for April 2, 2008 By ROB RYSER The (Westchester, N.Y.) Journal News SCARSDALE, N.Y. — Long rumored romantic pair Beyonce Knowles and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter may soon be the first couple of hip hop.
The superstar entertainers, better known as Beyonce and Jay-Z, recently took out a marriage license in Scarsdale, People magazine reports.
Citing an unnamed source, people said the couple took out a license on Tuesday, which was April Fool’s Day.
Both superstars have consistently downplayed rumors of a romance between them.
Scarsdale Village Clerk Donna Conkling could not be reached for comment Wednesday morning.
In order to get the marriage license, the couple would have had to make an appointment and both show up with proof of their age and identity, as well as pay a $40 fee.
The license is good for 60 days. "
I've been waiting for this for a while. But why did they have to take out the license on April Fool's Day? Does that mean this is a joke?
I hope not. Is everyone else as excited as I am?

I don't follow celebrity gossip too closely, so I Googled it.
My thoughts: if there are rumors that they're already married out there, and that they were engaged back in January, then I say it's not an April Fool's joke. Plus, you buy a marriage license from one-30 days before you get married, depending on the state, anyway. So that just means they're taking steps to purchase the legal portion to make it an actual honest-to-God legal marriage.
PLUS ... if it were just an April Fool's joke, I think they'd have sent another news release swapping out the one sent yesterday.
Oh puh-leeze. I'm totally not buying it. They've been together since "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" days and have been rumored to be married, preggers and whatever else at LEAST once every year since.

And we can't overlook the fact you're a hater when it comes to Beyonce, lol. HOWEVER, that said, I think I do agree with you on this - Jayonce is extremely tired and overrated as a couple to get excited about. I mean they've been together longer as an unmarried couple than some married celeb couples, so it would be more shocking if they actually broke up.
And Ashley, I don't know, that's quite a challenge right there, but I tell you what, I'll sing it in TUS if I'm wrong, lol. (Yeah riiiight, lol)
LMAO...I am not a Beyonce hater D. She's ok, I'm just so sick of everyone treating her like she's this innovative artist. All she does is take everything she hears from her gay friends and recycles it for mainstream public.

LOL!!! Terry, I actually agree with you on that. I think Beyonce is a very talented entertainer. She's the triple threat in that regard: pretty, can dance and can actually sing. BUT, I agree - I certainly would call her innovative. She's more of the pop kinda thing.
When I think of innovative, I think of folks like Jill Scott.

i get my celeb gossip from www.theybf.com ... the site was on Bey-Z watch all day Friday when the alleged wedding occurred atop the roof of Jay's apt building. Check out the pics on the site, complete with an explanation of why 04/04 was a special day (they were both born on the fourth of the month -- Gag me).
I too am sick of the couple and would love for them to get married so they can go live a normal life and get off my TV and radio .. sheesh. LOL. They are SICKENING! Not being a hater, just being real. Between them and TomKat, I'm sooooo over it

And show me proof of this said 'confirmation' of their marriage, because everywhere I look nobody's said it's been confirmed by anything but anonymous sources and anonymous sources don't count in my book!
